Bike Tour

If you want to know what made Leipzig the most liveable city in Germany, take a bike ride with us to the sites and places that most guests do not get to see.Leipzig’s old town and its sights are without doubt one of the most interesting inner cities in Germany, if not Europe. However, the visitor experiences little there about everyday life, the atmosphere, the mood in the city; much less about the parks and the districts that made Leipzig the most liveable city in Germany.

Time for a bike ride – Do not you think so? In our opinion the best way to get a solid overview of the city and its inhabitants.

On our approximately three-hour bike ride you get an insight into the past and present of the fair city. From the tower of the Rosental you have a unique view over the city. The founders period district on Waldstraße is just as much on your route as the young, hip district of Plagwitz with its many small pubs, shops and gems. A highlight of the tour is certainly the visit of the former largest cotton spinning mill in Europe, which today houses many well-known galleries, but also some designers, factories, cinemas and a restaurant.

Along the Karl-Heine-Canal, you reach the Schleußig district with the largest industrial monument from the Wilhelminian era in Europe. Experience the changeful history of Leipzig up close.

Finally, in the Music Quarter, you will visit places that are inextricably linked to the reputation of the city as a European center of music and art. Via the Johanna Park with its sad history you will reach the city center where the tour ends.

Cycle tour through the Rosental – Waldstraßenviertel – Plagwitz – Spinnereigelände – Karl-Heine canal – Schleußig – Johanna-Park – Market with the Old Town Hall ( 20 km / 3 h)
